There’s a rescue home for horses a short drive from where I live. They play classical music to them to help them relax.

I thought I should see this so I took my kids. And sure enough Beethoven, Mozart and Tchaikovsky were playing in the stables.

The workers said that not only have some of the horses been abused or neglected by previous owners but some are bred to be constantly alert and uptight, and the music would sooth them.

I could see their ears twitching to the music, but their heads were drooped and chilled.

It’s sad that horses require rescuing in the first place but great to see how local donations are spent. And their cafe does a great cooked breakfast.
