Sure. In fact before automobiles, there were lawyers who specialized in representing horses. Yes, horses hired lawyers to represent them in the litigation of their equine grievances. As cars replaced horses for human travel in the early 20th century, the field of horse law declined. Today there isn't a single horse lawyer in the United States. If humans gave up cars in the 21st century, the field of horse law would probably be revived and you'd hear about law students thinking of specializing in horse law. And law schools would teach horse law. Law students would get certificates to practice horse law.
