Any horse owners with stiffles surgery experience? [I Own Horses]

Am I gonna be able to ride her again.... She's gotten so aggressive I'm loosing hope but the vet cleared her

Ahh, the stifle is a very complicated & large joint, much more complex than a hock, etc. Depends on age of horse (secondary arthritis), type of injury, was it fixation of patella? Osteochondrosis? Surgery is really the ultimate for stifle injuries, so if your horse is still ‘telling you’ they’re in pain it’s not wise to persist. What was she like before & are we talking performance or a gentle hack?

I have had TB’s and AQH’s. I showed them and other things. I love talking to @BalmyNites, She is very knowledgeable. I just sat back and said nothing. There is so much good info on YouTube on injured stifles and nutrition for TB’s. I was always lucky to avoid the surgery. There are other ways, if you can. Like you are doing, getting the weight down would be very beneficial and now is a good time.😊🌷

@Rosiechick13 So just like 4 ounces? Yeah that’s not an issue in the evening. Almost like a treat. Speaking of which, apples, carrots, green beans, watermelon rinds, etc. are excellent treats and give the horse added moisture. What part of the country are you in, as far as plenty of freshly turned water and if it’s really hot, think about turning out at night.😊

@Oster1 she's full turn out and im in the smokies. I want to ride her but when I put pressure on her back she goes feral. She swings around and bites. She's not back sore though we even did x ray

@Rosiechick13 That’s why I said about being dictated to by an owner in the background 😊

Also look into Cosequin. It is scientifically proven and what most race horse owners use for joints, injuries and joint maintenance. Ask your vet.

Here is a guys YouTube channel I like but it’s mostly about racing but he has a lot of info you may like. Here is one on feeding and nutrition and he talks about the Cosequin. There is another one on nutrition and feeding with so many interesting things and other ones like training. I found him to be very knowledgeable. I have watched all of them and believe it would benefit you and hopefully your horse.

Also look up horse stifle injuries on YT. Just loads of info on many horse subjects.

YT can be like school if you know who to trust.

@MrBrownstone to add she's been off 2 years now.... Now she bites feet of riders. Even on the ground she flips to a mare mood. She was also spayed
