I Loved Someone That Didn't Love Me
This story is a little bit funny as to how it all turned out.
There's this young woman who I was teaching with, very attractive, does some modeling on the side. I noticed her several years back when we were both substitute teachers.
Back then I was really obese and shy. I liked her but didn't say anything.
To speed this up, we both stayed in the same district, but we're at different sites a lot since we were both substitutes
I eventually lost weight and she didn't recognize me at first until I said hello.
She stood there, shocked, then invited me back to the classroom where she was teaching. We talked for a long time. I was starting to feel drawn to her again.
We kept in touch over the summer. She admitted to me that she thought I was very attractive. I told her that I thought we should get together and hang out sometime and she agreed.
To make long story short, she kept blowing me off. I was slightly confused but not too broken up over it. A lot of my friends were convinced she was a flake or a "hot mess", an assessment I couldn't entirely disagree with or refute.
Then one day about some years ago, but a year since talking to her, I saw her again at my site. She was excited to see me and tell me how frustrated she was about the breakup of her most recent relationship.
Apparently the guy had been dating her, then chose to go back to the ex-wife who he also had a child with.
She was really bugged about it and after she was done, she asked me, "What do you think?"
I just looked at her and said,
"I think if you had gone out with me back in the day, you wouldn't have this problem now."
She stopped and got very quiet, looked up at me, smiled and said, "Touche." :-)
