My son the ungrateful terd.

After giving my son my only mountain bike as he needed another form of transportation for free a year or so back, that i bought new in 2014. I told him i was looking to buy another mountain bike used for exercise , he tells me why buy another bike ,what happened to your old one he asked, you have it silly billy i responded back. I dont need it its just taking up space in my apartment.i tell him then sell it and keep the money for yourself. Then he says why not buy mine ? I would be stupid buying my own bike back when i gave it to him for free. So ignore him for a week, i tell hom money is tight that i cant buy a used one just yet. Then he says just take mine, and buy me a case of beer. That pissed me off more. So a few days past im on vacation from work, i text him i will pick you up and drop you home so i can see your new apartment but in the back of my mind i will while im there i will take back my old bicycle back, he says your still going to buy me a case of beer right .for the bike,i say nothing then he suggest he needs a snall area fan for like $20 i tell him i could buy a $20 room fan from walmart, but i could not find any of them so i bought a toaster oven, that he does not have.
So walmart had a sale on them regular price $58 on sale for $23 after picking him i told him i bought a $53:toaster oven for his place, he says you still owe me a fan for the bike, i say nothing again. When we get to his place he looks at the new box, and starts complaining that he has a seperate toaster and a seperate oven. That he does not want it and shoves it back in the truck. I close the tailgate jump back into my truck and get ready to leave, he asks me if im still visiting i shake my head , a $20 fan vs a appliance.and drive straight home. I offer my neighbor a new toaster oven for a pkg of burger patties for a even trade. He replies that he give me 2 pks of of burger patties to make it more fair . That kid of mine , really has a chip on his shoulder.

why not be frank with him and tell him you gave it to him so shouldnt "owe" him anything lol. instead of creating this resentment. whats he going to learn from that? kids are stupid and must be taught.

@Penny he is 25.not a kid anymore, if a saw white he demands its black, what ever i see its stupid, 59 years old i know nothing.

@Tugasaki he must be desperate for cash lol. why dont you offer him some money if you can anyway? however annoying these kids may be, just think of who might be there for you when youre old and decrepit lol.

@Penny im not paying him cash for my own bike i gave him for free, and he says he does not need it anymore, i work from paycheque to paycheque, its why i could not afford to buy used bike, but offering him a $56 toaster oven vs a $20 fan i thought was being fair since the store had no fans left, even though he has a fan but had no toaster oven but to through it back in my face after giving him a ride home, and buying something for him while on my holidays is just plain ignorant.

@Tugasaki well, why the hell did you buy him a toaster? he obviously didnt need it, he must be hot if he wants a fan. you should have just told him to give you back your bike if hes not using it. i mean, one minute youre ready to buy a new bike, next youre crying poor mouth. which is it?

@Tugasaki also im not suggesting you buy your bike back. im saying tell him to just give it back to you but if you can afford to give him a little cash it would be nice since he's obviously struggling.

@Penny i was planning on buying a used bike, but i told him that i dont have the money to spend $100 on used ones, the day before he gave me my old bike back that i gave him free, he has a fan already, he wanted beer at first then decided on a cheap fan, i was being generous at the day after by getting him something he does not have, i think i was being very generous, and shoving it back into the truck was the last straw, my generousity has expired. When he lived at home things went missing, he would sell my stuff to pay for his drug buddies to cover his share, this is his chip on his shoulder, he quit school he moved out, his life now.

@Tugasaki well, that was your error thinking hed appreciate the toaster oven. as far as you being "generous", the toaster oven was on sale right? but you told him you paid the full price lol. i wonder where he learned how to be like he is. also- "dad, i want a fan." "here, they were out of fans, have a toaster oven." "i dont want a toaster oven, i wanted a fan!" "you ungrateful brat! you dont love me!" lol. this is what i am hearing. sorry. not trying to ridicule you or anything. hope it doesnt come off like that. just trying to help.

@Tugasaki also, sorry if your child has a drug problem. its a terrible thing to have. just rememeber though he's still your kid and he needs your love and support still. i know it's a pain but do try to be understanding. i mean, yes theres a line between being supportive and being taken advantage of, but still. .. the way my father taught me is we bring you into the world, that means we're responsible for you when it comes to having children.

@Penny i appreciate your loving attitude, somthing i dont hear very often, i wrote this story to vent, i live alone and dont have many friends my age, being bisexual in nature and working around very homophobic co workers has left me jaded. Thanks for listening your parents must be very proud of you.
