I Loved Someone That Didn't Love Me

We were best friends in high school. We were so close, we were everything for each other. But he was gay. Still, I hoped that even if he wasn't sexually attracted to me, he still loved me emotionally. But as soon as he got a boyfriend, he cut me off completely. I was always a second choice for him, "good enough" until something better came along. He hasn't spoken to me in 15 years, and even though I'm married now, I still think about him. It still hurts.
