Tomorrow brings an important phone call. Decisions will be made. And it very well could be more stressful than I’d like it to be.
So I’ve spent the day in a softened environment at home, with very little allowance of my anxious brain being on a constant worst case scenario loop in an effort to feel prepared for all possible outcomes. It’s been a boundary that hasn’t been able to be reinforced all day though. I’m just too mentally and emotionally weak for that ability…and that’s okay. Some things need to be felt, just so you can allow yourself to coexist with the uncertainty/fear that they can carry. And I’m definitely no stranger to that.
But there’s something about the day coming to a close that allows my brain to quiet down more. And I thank the stars for that little bit of inner grace.
I’m already planning my day after tomorrow’s call. A trip to a beloved place that’ll allow me to disconnect a bit and digest the information before me in a place of beauty, peace, and nostalgia. A place where my dad still exists in the air years after his passing. And it’s been too long since I’ve shared that space with the memory of him. I’m feeling the pull towards that place for a reason, and the excitement of it is greatly outweighing the heaviness that could come beforehand. That’s exactly how it should be 😌
