I hate hugs

I have always hated hugs but totally avoiding them became akward at times so I stopped telling people that I hate hugs.
So today Im at the airport and I see a work colleague. I haven't seen her in a year because we work in different cities so she says " hey give me a hug before you go".
So I am feeling friendly and I like her so I try to give her a real hug my face gets slightly squished near her neck for a second making this like a kiss on her neck🙄🙄
How lame and weird. I hate hugs truly.

My mother does, too. She [b]only[/b] initiates hugs with Pop, her children and granddaughter. My cousin (her nephew) visited after living in the U.K. to attend his father’s funeral. He brought his Scottish wife, the first time our family met her. She’s a tall, sturdy woman, and upon being introduced, rushed over and got my mother in a bear hug, practically lifting her off her feet. In retrospect it was funny, and we all love Ellen now. But at the time, poor Mom. 🤭
