Two traumatic things come to mind, sadly.
Firstly, when I was raped. Back in the mid nineties. Do you ever get over that? I don't think so.
Then, mum's passing, when she was my age - 55. She died suddenly, of a heart attack. Huge effect on me. Then, the trepidation of me getting to the age that she was.
The 'birthday year' isn't over, until late May, so it's less on my mind, but still there.
