What's the most heartbreaking thing you've ever experienced?

What happened? Have you healed from it and if so, how?

Thank you in advance for sharing💜

The day I found out I had to have my hip replaced. I was 23 and it had been broken for six months at that point. The orthopedist I had been going to kept telling me it was healing when it wasn't.

@thepeculiarpanda you must've felt so misled or betrayed. I don't know what it's like to have a broken hip, but I hope your new one is serving you well.

@greencompass It's really, really painful. It took them five weeks to diagnose it and I had blood clots at that point so they couldn't do surgery. It ended up being one thing after another and that doctor kept telling me I looked great. Meanwhile, I was on Fentanyl and Percocet and sleeping for fourteen hours a night.

@thepeculiarpanda bloody hell.. how did the surgery go when they finally did it? How was your recovery?
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
@greencompass Surgery and recovery went really well actually! I had broken it through the ball joint so it had to be a total replacement. Six month recovery or so. 😖

@thepeculiarpanda I'm glad there were no other complications and that recovery went well. You must've been really strong to go through 6 months of recovery.

@greencompass It was doubly frustrating because I had actually gotten sick the year before too and ended up disabled. My body attacked my brain in October 2010.

So yeah, 2010 to 2012 is a time I wouldn't repeat for anything. 😅

@thepeculiarpanda I'm glad that's in the past now for you.
