Depends how bad the experience(s) are. In my case, I've abandoned the concept of romantic adult sexual/intimate type love connections since 2016 and since my daughter was born to me and my now 2nd ex in 2017 my daughter has been my focus and any potential romantic adult relationship would have to take second place.

That’s easier to believe when you’re younger. The older you get the harder it becomes.
Especially if you’ve poured your heart out into longer term relationships that went south.

Love is a many splendored thing.
