When you think about it, it's rather strange when people say, "I am falling in love with you" or "I am in love with you" because

If love was something that one could fall into, that would imply that you can fall out of it, which isn't true love. Wouldn't it be more appropriate and fitting to say "rising to love with you"? True love is not something you fall into like a trap, but something you rise to. Unfortunately, more times than not, romantic love is a delusion, distraction and trap.

I like this quote by David J. Duncan in "The River Why": "Love is also like poison oak. You can't explain poison oak itch to somebody who's never had it."

Indeed!
I think I wrote that or either "growing into love" in one of my stories.
