Trying to wrap my head around this

Saw a clip of Chelsea Handler on the Jennifer Hudson show. She said, 'Ive been having a lot of sex' and the audience clapped. Hudson asked, 'Oh is it like a love awakening?'

and Handler said, 'No not an awakening, but whoever is with me intimately or in a relationship, they're lucky. They're lucky to be with me and I know my worth'. Hudson said 'Oh we like that!'

I can't even FATHOM the mindset of having confidence to feel that way. To feel you are someone others would want to have in their life, or to love. Have you ever felt this confidence, and how did you arrive at it?

Having self respect is good and required. But ego that you are superior one can make you distant from your loved ones and make you live in a separate world.

@ABCDEF7 Would you say if some one said, "they're lucky to be with me", would mean they feel superior, or that they truly believe their date/partner is lucky because they know their worth?

@Coralmist The interpretation of words depends upon style/culture and the tone with which they are speaking.

When we are saying something to someone, we should keep in mind how it will sound to the other person, because we are speaking for the other person not for our internal thought.
