What are your feelings about falling in love on the Internet

I had a serious crush, (very nearly love), on a pen pal from the UK. We wrote online. He used to call me his "Goddess of Words". I was head over heels for a while. I was seriously considering traveling over there to meet him...and then, gradually, over the months that we wrote, I discovered some VERY disturbing and sick things about him. He admired Hitler, for one, and in his own mind, he had decided that Jesus could not be a Jew, and went to all sorts of lengths to try to prove it.
