Would you as a straight person date a trans man/woman?

Especially interested in the answers of people who consider trans women/men to be genuine members of that gender.

Would I "date" a friend? Yes. Regardless of gender Identity. One; perhaps my best friend, is trans/ intersex. We talk all of the time. Known each other for many years. Was with them when their father died. Covered their mother's cararact surgery, and many other things. They're a nurse now working in a hospital. Planning to go spend a week with them and their family soon. The difficulty is explaining any of this to anyone else who is not understanding. I just wish I could bring them here.
