Is this good or bad?

I told my bf that my past lover (we don't have formal relationship but that person is my first kiss) added me on social media and I ignored it. I just told him because my friend told me I should let him know even if I'm not planning to accept the request. So I told it to my bf and he said "Maybe he just wanted to be friends, you can do whatever is comfortable with you".
