Should he be paying?

My boyfriend of two years recently invited me to a concert. I said that I would love to go with him. He then proceeded to say tickets are $50, and that if I’ll be taking my brothers car. In my mind when I agreed, I thought he was offering to take me with him. Am i wrong for thinking that or is that how it usually goes? He usually pays when he invites. But this time he isn’t but wants me there

No, if my friend or sister or colleague or whoever told me about a concert, I wouldn't expect them to pay for my ticket even though technically they invited me, I'd look up the price first and accept or decline the invitation based on my budget. Not everyone has it easy to spare 50 bucks. You're two years in a relationship, you must be close enough to suggest going on events and vacations together without the person who invites having to pay every time. If he hadn't told you about it you'd most likely also be upset he didn't invite you.
