Should he be paying?

My boyfriend of two years recently invited me to a concert. I said that I would love to go with him. He then proceeded to say tickets are $50, and that if I’ll be taking my brothers car. In my mind when I agreed, I thought he was offering to take me with him. Am i wrong for thinking that or is that how it usually goes? He usually pays when he invites. I've converted $50 to pounds and that's about £40. That's not a lot IMO so I think he's being a bit of a cheapskate especially if you're providing the transport! If he asks, he should pay. If he expects you to pay for your own ticket he should have said "I've got a couple of tickets, do you want to buy one at $50 and come with me?". Maybe just get a less mean boyfriend.
