Should he be paying?

My boyfriend of two years recently invited me to a concert. I said that I would love to go with him. He then proceeded to say tickets are $50, and that if I’ll be taking my brothers car. In my mind when I agreed, I thought he was offering to take me with him. Am i wrong for thinking that or is that how it usually goes? He usually pays when he invites.
