No. If I happened to be abroad and found someone that would be one thing, but to travel for the purpose of finding one. No way.

It's one thing to intentionally and specifically go looking abroad for a spouse. I often hear the incel types announced how horrid "American women" are, as if they were a homgenous group, and how they would only couple with foreign women.
People have agency. A salut! It's a quid pro quo that's as old as humanity. Exchanging sex and home making for financial security and material things. I'm sure my own ancestors did the same, can't judge it. I hope people are happy.
But it's a dangerous prospect. I have known people who have married "foreign brides" only to get dread social diseases, have them disappear and ghost them, or more often, to find themselves in a pickle because those women came from cultures where the homemaker and matriarch wasn't a demure little thing, but a queen with a long sword and a whip. You thought American women were bad? HAHAHAHAHAHA
The flip side is that it really is a global world. The internet and travel have made the world small. I met my partner here, through her words. I couldn't help falling for her because of who she was. Life circumstances radically changed and I am able to have a relationship with her. She just happens to be Australian. How awesome is that?

I suppose it’s a trend for American men looking for women they think they might be able to dominate. I’m not sure where going abroad would necessarily benefit American women, except possibly in countries where women enjoy equal rights.

@bijouxbroussard that's exactly it. It's funny because they don't realize a lot of these women just need them for visas, and after they are settled and secure they might actually want a different partner. Obviously, some might actually be in love, but it's really hard to know for sure. Just like how someone dating a millionaire might not necessarily be dating them for their money, but they might end up staying in a bad relationship and or tolerating them just because they're rich.

Older American men, heading abroad in search of women looking for obedient women, who will take care of them? Nothing new about it.

I don't have the money, the time or the energy for that! lol
I'd rather meet someone in a daily basis way.... I see what they are like from the first meeting. Long distance relationships are hard enough without adding in speed dating and all.
