First of all, that like punching somebody in the fist with your nose. Second, as should be obvious there is no way to objectively demonstrate what you claimed about who loves whom more.

Don’t say shit like that, there’s no way it ends well, and it’s incredibly rude to your boyfriend. He didn’t handle it well because there’s no way to handle it well.

It's okay to feel sad. But it just might be be meant his comment differently than you took it.
