I never understood it before...

...fear of cockroaches.

Okay, so the cockroaches we get here are mostly flightless, and look waaaay different to American ones.

Ours...
Usually small, often less than an inch. Sometimes you see a big bastard.
No wings, often shiny like a bug.

The fucker FLIES 🫪....largest of the species, somwtimes up to 2 inches,
...and frankly, it looks evil .

A lot of cockroachs fly...more so up north like Queensland...and to a lesser extent in the Apple Isle where the common one doesn't.
@KiwiBird i was just reading that the american one has made its way past quarantine.
