The Adventures of Ms. Grumpy Pants...volume 1.
My Annoying Friend.
I went to see my annoying friend, Tom, yesterday, using the last bits of my caffeinated energy, and brought him some food, and loads of empty egg cartons for his friend, Dave, who raises chickens. I also brought a large bag filled with cat food for Dave's colony of feral cats...some of whom apparently didn't get neutered!
I didn't stay long. It was a typical visit. I was barely thanked for the food I brought for my friend, and before he would even attempt to put it away I was treated to a dramatic show...of him limping, bent over double and holding onto things, before crashing onto the sofa and going into Mrs. Siddons mode.
Eventually he revived from the personal tragedy he was attempting to enact, put the groceries away, and then walked back to the sofa normally, having forgotten that he was trying to make me feel sorry for him.
The news was on, and we chatted a moment about the hurricane, and then he offered me $10. I assume he realizes, when he thinks about anything other than himself, that gas prices are high, and that it costs a lot to drive two towns over to bring him food every week, and all the things for Dave and his cats. For once, I didn't even argue. My tank is THAT low.
And THEN he treated me to a lecture.
He told me that when I hit the gas and my engine goes "VROOM-VROOM", I am hitting the gas too hard and I am using more gas than I should. 🙄🙄🙄 Gee. I have been alive ALL of these decades, and previous to him TELLING me that, I NEVER had a CLUE!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I particularly enjoyed making my car go "VROOM VROOM" once I began my drive home! 🤭🤭🤭
