I Love to Write

Hello everyone. I really want to be a writer. I've been writing for other people and they liked what I wrote. But I don't see myself as a good writer. How do you build your confidence as a writer?

As I have said to others ( and firmly believe) a story or article is the writer's "brainchild" and you may like it, but others may not, and vice versa.

You say others "like what you write". You are HALFWAY THERE! A writer, be he or she, good or bad, is the worst judge of what they produce. That includes me. I have let others see my writing, and thy say I am smart and talented. This feels good, but I know I must stay with my writing and always strive to improve. This is what you need to do.

Keep writing. A little every day, even if only a sentence or paragraph. Your confidence will come as you "hone" your skills and write - maybe even have printed. I have written several letters to the editor of my local newspaper, and had two or three articles printed. Continuing to write will bring you the confidence you seek. Confidence cannot be taught - it has to be your effort in what you write.
