How do you build confidence?

How do you feel comfortable in your own physical body ? By relying on compliments from other people? What if you don't actually believe any of it ? Even if people tell you that you look nice. What does real confidence look like ? All bodies are beautiful? No. That can't be true because I've seen some ugly ass people.
