Khadija It's not cool. I had a few coworkers doing stuff like that to me over the years. I never thought it was because they thought I was better than them (I thought it was because they viewed me as less than them).
Get this. I reported a group of coworkers for denying service to some of our customers based on their being racist (they were also bullying all the women of African heritage in the office including me). Their response was to try and convince me that one of them was having an affair with my, then, boyfriend (now husband). She had all kinds of personal information about he and I, that she tried to imply she had gotten from him, but it turned out she had gotten access to my phone (I had to leave it at my desk regularly while with customers) and she had gone through my text messages and photos.
Instead of my husband being like "that's psycho of her" he got all insulted like I was actually accusing him of cheating and tried to cover his ass instead of trying to help prosecute this woman. It was really depressing.
