The night that couldn't continue

I hate your laughter.
Its cruel meander, its heartfelt rejection.
My love carved away onto a riverside, its heat scattering in a cold breeze.
Fueling my rage. Burning my tears.
I hate the stars as they watch overhead. Those evil fireflies emerging from pale dusk to unyielding midnight.
Don't watch me as you walk away. My love left under your barefoot.
I will never let go of this moment.
No smokes nor hard whiskey will make me forget the woman I loved.
I feel nothing but disgust for you and forever will.

And time held and twisted my desire.
Whenever I see your face.
Every nervous twitch when you come near, every moment you avoid eye contact.
I still remember that night as hard for you and me.
Why does it bother you so much?
I can't help but feel sad and breath a sigh.
It's been 10 years and being with you that night was a precious memory.
I could have sat with you forever.
I could have been that man, still hating you for walking away when it ended.
But I don't see why you couldn't move past a break up and talk to an old friend.

Or at least, quit wincing. I'm not particularly here for you.

I’m so sorry you’ve been hurt by her, but I love that you wrote about it, especially for the writing challenge. I hope writing helps you. It helps me express and release emotions.

Hmmm they say there’s a thin line between love and hate

@GoFish Aye. The switch from one to another can be very jarring to the other person.

Unfortunately, this is based on a real event. No matter how much it makes me laugh now.
