Something about being on an escalator makes me feel like a main character

Get to the top and wave to your people. Lol

"And this year's AVN award for Female Performer of the Year goes to...........................itsok for 'Going Down'!!!!"
Degbeme · 70-79, M
We do set a striking figure. ☺
You're going up in the world.

I remember taking the escalator as a kid and I was always scared of the ends. So getting on or off would involve me jumping. I have a vivid memory of my dad casually lifting his toes when he got to the end and sliding onto the floor. I thought he was so cool.

@itsok We’re like out of the slice of life genre with this storytelling. I’d love the chance to be like my dad! People always liked him. I’ll be sure to be so nonchalant in the action the viewer can’t help but wonder about the protagonist and her quirk. We can develop intrigue with this!
School!!! Oh my gosh! Is their summer already over? 😱
itsok · 31-35, F
@Reject summer break is over here!
Open house is in a week, and the first day of school is in two weeks.
I’ll admit, I’m looking forward to it starting back. During the school year my little sister and I spend Monday school hours together doing errands while her son is gone.
Reject · 31-35, M
@itsok I’m not even going back to school and I can’t believe how fast summer went by. You’re so close with your family. It’s really sweet. Errands make me imagine something boring, but I bet you two make it an adventure somehow.

If only your theme song played while on it every time.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
It must be the camera crew following you around.

Being on escalators has its ups and downs.

don't fall prey to Main Character Syndrome. Always take the elevator. say, nice weather we're having, like a supporting character instead.
itsok · 31-35, F
@StygianKohlrabi side characters take the stairs. No thank you. I took the elevator once today and it was glass.
StygianKohlrabi · 46-50, M
@itsok bet you didn't get crammed to the back or have to step outside to let the family out
itsok · 31-35, F
It's all good until your face is at someone else's ass height
itsok · 31-35, F
@ostfuidctyvm I thought you’d like that
It's the whole standing there and being brought to the landing automatically for me lol.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@MsSwan That`s me.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
We don't really have a choice. We each exist within the context of our lives. There is no escape from that existence. We therefore are all trapped as main characters in that context. No one else on the escalator is you nor can anyone else be you. As time and the history of events plays out you alone must occupy that role.
