Shirtless Lifestyle

I would really appreciate some input or info regarding the matter below

I have always been shy, especially regarding going shirtless. Whenever at home, beach or pool, removing my shirt was never an option. I cannot explain why but I never had it in me although in my mind, I always wanted to.

I chatted to many kind and understanding people here who not only provided tips but lots of guidance on how to approach this and overcome it, although it is something I'm working on slowly.

Maybe it wasn't a very very common thing in my household but my dad on occasion did go shirtless when watching TV or sleeping. I always felt the urge to do so but never did.

I thought maybe it's my body type or age

I came across these pics and it made me realize alot of things.

Age isn't an issue, size and skin colour don't matter and all these pics show that the lifestyle is so important

I'm jus curious to ask how many are in a similar position

Was permission required to be shirtless around the house
Was age an issue
Was it ok around parents without any issues
Did anyone's dad motivate this

Kind regards

I don't think anyone should ever need permission to go shirtless, but especially not a boy.
My boyfriend is a landscaper, and he's shirtless all summer, and always barefoot.
I'm glad he's fit and has a nice dark tan, but if he starts the season pale and with a bit of a belly, so what?
If I were raising a boy, I'd want him shirtless and barefoot as soon as school was out.
@onewithshoes
That's one of the best advice I have ever heard ❤️❤️

That's one lucky son thats going to be born to you 😊

Yea I’m kind of in a similar boat as you. Growing up with no brothers and living with my mom and my sister but my dad also never went shirtless, that wasn’t very customary in my house. I used to think that it was inappropriate to take my shirt off for situations other than swimming. But as I got older and started get more involved with all male environments I started noticing how sometimes guys would take their shirts off like at the park playing sports or at the theme park just walking around, or even just hanging out with friends.
I was also shy to change in front of other guys as well, until at a high school retreat I was staffing, one night I was doing my night rounds checking on all the guys rooms. I walked into a room and all the guys were either in just shorts or just their undies. At first I apologized but they were like “dude no it’s fine”. I thought I was walking in on them changing invading their privacy but it turns out that was just their night fit for the night lol
After that and a couple other situations I started to go shirtless with the boys also and in dorm settings will hangout shirtless or even in just my undies
@Ricky9584 jus to add to that
I guess the environment plays a big part also. Cos regarding the first part of your message, my dad went shirtless very few times but it wasn't something that wouldn't have been done without a reason

@SilentKiller Yea totally it surprised me how I would see other guys going shirtless without really an actual reason other than just to be comfy and fresh
@Ricky9584 u so accurate about this.
Because I'm kind of chubby with a belly and I always thought my appearance would be part of the problem but as in the pics, little kids and fat old men and even fat boys were freely without shirts and it always made me wonder how

I was also shy about going shirtless as a child but for exactly the opposite reason--I was absurdly skinny! Eventually became proud of it in my 20s and have been a shirtless devotee ever since. Consider it "appropriate" wherever I can get away with it. As far as my forebears go, my papa and my brother were as fat as some of the models in your pics and I found them revolting. Luckily they didn't commonly go shirtless at home.
@irrelevant totally appreciate your response
At least you overcame it and made part of your routine 🙌

I love when guys go shirtless -- and barefoot!

That is certainly refreshing. I've encountered women who take offence at bare chests and feet.
@onewithshoes that's so cool to know 😊

[@silentkiler] 🤔 i cannot personally why you are worrying about your physique and going bare chest . compared too some who are fat and grotesque but still go around topless you are far from that and nothing to worry about
@smiler2012
That's very kind of you

Thank you so much for that

You shouldn't be ashamed about going shirtless. Fathers and sons going shirtless is truly a lost art form. Today I we went to the park and spent about an hour exercising barefoot and shirtless!!
@Barefooter25 I would have loved to join you
U right about it being a lost art
@Barefooter25 I sent you a DM

Learning a sport made me comfortable to be shirtless especially in public. When it's hot and you're all sweaty, you overcome your shyness and just take the shirt off.
@ToplessTom that's so cool

Im shirtless most of the time, or dressed at all for that matter. I don't see the big deal
@retiredbum much appreciated
