Hypnosis?????????????Ever happened to you???

Have you ever been hypnotized before?

I have, the last time was when I lodged with a female writer.
She claimed to be an expert in both tarot, and hypnosis.
I called her bluff and she said she would hypnotize me one evening when she was holding a dinner party.
Highly embarrassing for me!!!!!

I’ve been hypnotized many times and I’m also a certified hypnotherapist although I only do it on family and friends. I think it is a really powerful tool

@Jenny1234 So I guess that man at bar in England in 1920's was your previous life. Were you ever able to relate few things of your past life with the current life?

@ABCDEF7 i’m still processing a lot of it even though it’s taken several years. There are two recurring dreams that Ive had regularly since I was a child that, after a lot of reflection, I think they are past lives.

Once, decades ago. I wanted to quit smoking and the hypnotherapist told me to imagine the most soothing, unstressful location I could remember. I chose a scene from Utah of a grove of aspen trees surrounded by a field of tall green grass.

At the end of the session, the woman told me when I wanted a cigarette, I should rub index finger and thumb together, and I would BE in that calm place and not need nicotine.

It all worked and still does, except for the quitting smoking part. I quit much later. But to this day, if I rub forefinger and thumb together, I see that aspen grove.

Maybe I should have chosen another state.

@Mamapolo2016 you had me with the story until the last sentence haha after a lifetime of visiting Utah
@Boeing I love Utah, geographically-speaking. It’s gorgeous. I was playing.

@Mamapolo2016 yes I kind of got it... but also in a serious tone..:) hahaha
I'm fascinated by hypnosis but I don't think I've ever been hypnotized fully, even when I went to therapists who used it as a technique. At most I got more relaxed and dreamy. I am too wary somehow, I suppose.
I have been hypnotized, many years ago. I don't remember what it was for, but I remember I enjoyed it. It was a very comforting feeling.

What does it feel like? Do you know what you are doing? Does it all make sense at the time. I've always been fascinated to know.

I sat for a hypnotist once. It didn't work. Either I can't be hypnotized or she wasn't very good at it.

@sundazzled I had a friend who used hypno' to quit smoking. He had to go to a preliminary assessment type meeting to be evaluated to see if he was the right "type" to be hypnotized. Certain personality types are more susceptible to suggestion. Others are more resistant. So does hypnosis work? Yes AND no. Depending on the person.

@sundazzled What were you wanting to be hypnotized into or out of? The fact that it didn't take probably means you are the type of person who is very skeptical, suspicious, and doesn't just jump on the and wagon like most people
