I volunteered for Night to Shine at church again this year, and it was lovely as always, this time with an Enchanted Forest theme!! I don't know if

y'all remember my status about it, but it is a prom for otherly abled kids....

They come in big limo SUV's, the parents/caregivers get catered Truluck's, and I think the other catered meal was something fancy like Pappadeaux....

The honored teen guests are paired with a buddy to guide them through the evening. They get their hair and makeup done, faces painted, then strut down the red carpet to get their pics professionally taken....Some of the kiddos have sensory issues and such, so they can also opt for a silent "cheer" with jazz hands.

They are then ushered in to the dance and karaoke part of the prom....One kid did the robot all the way down the red carpet....Another one had gold light up shoes. Just adorable, and fulfilling to be a small part of.

Edited to add: I got to help Judy Maggio check in. I grew up watching her anchor the local news; she is a local mainstay. Cool to visit with her....I mean I watched her on tv since I was a LITTLE BEAN, so it was surreal.

@Bexsy awww i bet you were a proud mama! I did, but it has the ability to make me feel pretty lonely too, as a single woman 🥺
@foldedunfolding extremely proud.. I understand how it could be that way,. being alone is so hard sometimes
