Is this right, or am I wrong?

I saw a girl of about 14(?) in the theatre on Saturday. She was small, very pretty and wearing a very short clingy "microdress" that barely covered her rear. In a major city, late at night, it just screams "potential rape" to me. I know that's wrong and she should be able to wear whatever, but I do wonder where her parents were to educate her.
Have I got this wrong?

Do people become sexually aroused by skimpy clothing? Sure.

But Rapists don't always care what you are wearing, unless they have a very small window of time. It is not the sexual arousal by looking at a body or clothing that leads to the raping. It's the power trip. It is also why most rapists pick people they know, or people they feel they have a reason to degrade, fuck, and treat like disposable rubbish, or people they can kidnap or get unconsious easily.

Opportunistic molesters might care more about the dress of their victim because they are more interested in molesting without consent and getting away with it then escalating it further. Some take their time, some try to molest quickly. They tend to think they aren't hurting anyone by keeping their penis in their pants or whatever. Which is stupid.

The molesting and rape is because something internally is wrong with them...because they are sexually aroused by idea of no restraints on their social behavior and the opportunity rush and power trip of treating someone like sexual rubbish...an object they can pick up, toss around, manipulate, hurt, break, blackmail, degrade, and throw in a litter bin or on the side of the street when no one is watching when they are done with their "fun" and getting away with it.

Rapists could just as easily target someone wearing pants then a short skirt. But yeah, perverts and molesters abound a short skirt which is concerning enough when you worry about a minor's safety.

Soldiers in some areas of the world and some gang members will be encouraged to rape men and women by an officer or leader and call it mercy by showing power and degrading and hurting them instead of killing them

The problem isn't the clothing in my opinion.

That being said some people make it a problem. What you wear might be used as a weapon against you. Like that court case in Peru in which the judge ruled that red panties was the same as consent. Or a rapist might try to excuse their behavior or gaslight you or convince you that everyone will think you were asking for rape by wearing a skirt.

So weird that the world works this way.

@Scribbles I've read, and re-read your contribution: profound.

@CharlesRomsey Hopefully it helped answer your question. I've wanted to understand the motivations of rape since I was 14 and spent a good deal of time and effort on it.

It's scary the amount of people who believe some people's lives have value but certain other people's lives have less or no value. And then want and justify aggressively degrading and assaulting one group. There is no way to force value once someone has decided you don't matter and has made you a target. You just have to fight.
