Freedom from advertising.

I recently recalled that I grew up in a time & place virtually free of unavoidable advertising. There were billboards of course, and some scattered ads in the newspapers (newspapers!) but BBC radio and TV were free & non-commercial and telemarketing hadn't been thought of. Today's population wouldn't be able to imagine it. I didn't know "how good we had it," - or how awful it was going to get.
