I've been really wanting to stop wearing socks and shoes as much as possible. I'm really thinking about getting rid of them and live a 24/7 barefoot life. Now because I really wish I can just keep them off all the time

That does help you ground yourself.It's actually good for your health.Just to take your shoes and socks off and let your feet touch the ground.It actually releases energy from you into the ground
@dale74 I enjoy doing that lol. It also helps to have some kind of texture under me to step on. Like a soft carpet which feels really nice under my feet. Its a huge sensory stimulation for me
