Why do people care what some wears or don’t wear?

I went shopping at wal mart today barefoot which I love going barefoot In public.. I really love when people are put off when they see im barefoot.

That's a sanitary concern that we couldn't possibly apply today.
Rules used to make sense, but without public health as an idea, anything goes.
