Red Barn and their 15 cent hamburgers!
Did you have a Millionaire nearby, too?

My brother was just talking this morning about the Doggie Diner over on Geary and Arguello, where the folks would take us on Friday evenings, as a treat. It was a memory he, our middle sister and I shared.

By the time our "baby" sister came along, it had already closed. 🥺
@bijouxbroussard

That's too bad... I mean it looks so inviting :D
AMC, Plymouth, Pontiac
@BrewCityBarfly

I can believe that about AMC - Hamilton Ontario (my hometown) was where the last Studebaker rolled off the assembly line. My late Uncle George worked there and he'd agree that quality issues did in Studebaker, too.
@rinkydinkydoink The sad part was the innovation, and the demise in spite of that.
@BrewCityBarfly

@rinkydinkydoink Take note of the edit I added to my first reply 😂
@Gibbon

Your block of S?

Why you so hard to get along with?!
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@rinkydinkydoink That S is a true POS to me. About 2 years ago wanted to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger in a post. Also has tendency to barge in criticizing people for habits and the way they live S does not agree with.
I'm not hard to get along with. Just ask me 😂

There use to be a frozen pizza named Roman Pizza. You would get 9 or 10 six inch round pizzas in a box. They were great for snacking on TV nights.
@IM5688

I did not know that - but Google AI confirmed it has, indeed, died:

The original, retro Roman Frozen Pizza brand from the 1960s and 1970s is no longer in business and is considered a "forgotten pizza" from the golden age of frozen food

Thank goodness all of his many bankruptcies, various felony convictions and other failures are behind him and
he has found his true calling as the much respected and beloved leader of the free world!

@rinkydinkydoink
Interesting thing PM Mark Carney said last week at the NATO conference during his standup speech was, "the USA and in particular Donald Trump, think that they are the leader of the free world when in fact THEY are not and neither is Donald Trump".... and he said it with a straight face and got a standing ovation for it. 😂

I was at a car show in Toronto last month and saw a fully restored Datsun 240Z which was fully operational and never winter-driven. I think the owner said it was an early `70s model?
@swirlie

Mine was a black on black modified '72... I totaled it while drunk (one of my 3 convictions - a long time ago because if not I'd have been locked up for quite a stretch).
swirlie · 31-35, F
@rinkydinkydoink
Black on black would have been nice! So you got charged 3 times for impaired?
@swirlie

Yes to black exterior/interior and yes to 3 times over the course of roughly 10 years... the last one was the demolition of the 240Z in 1976.
@MrBrownstone

I had to look up JVC - - then went DOH! I had no idea they're out of business.
candycane · 36-40, F
