I Guess They Are Really Strict On The Curfew In The Bricktown Area of Oklahoma City…

There were several incidents of violence involving teens back in October when I was in the hospital after having surgery. They were bringing in victims to the trauma center at the hospital due to gun or knife violence when I was there and I’d hear and watch the helicopters setting down on top of the ER. So they made a curfew that starts at 9 p.m. till 6 a.m. for minors unless they are with their parents. One of the boy’s friends got his driver’s license and yesterday evening they decided to go to a fried chicken place in Bricktown. They got there at 8:30 and ordered & paid for chicken. Two police officers came in while there were waiting and yelled at them to leave right that minute, wouldn’t let them get their chicken. So they walked to their car and an employee ran out and told them they wouldn’t let them leave without their chicken and brought it to them. They said it wasn’t even 9:00 p.m. yet when they were ordered to leave. We live in a different city so I believe those boys weren’t aware of the curfew hours, they are all 17 years old.

I am so sorry that happened, Patty. The law is a good one, but the Police officers who enforce it should not bully the children.

@4meAndyou Well the boy wasn’t with them. He was asked but did something else. The police never let them get one word in. They acted like they were local teens.

@cherokeepatti Thank goodness he wasn't with them.

@4meAndyou Kind of glad he changed his plans. The lady who gave him driving lessons came & got him from school when it let out and took him to her son’s home & he & her grandson went 4-wheeling down by the river and did boy stuff.

@cherokeepatti That sounds like awesome fun!!! about 100 x better than going for Kentucky Fried!

@4meAndyou yes it does. I think those boys are rather naive driving up into Oklahoma City on a Friday night. They need to be watching out where they are going and keep up with the news.

@cherokeepatti They are young...the car is a new thing...and they probably ALL thought it sounded like an adventure!
