How long is a piece of string?

Surely, we must know by now.

Evened · 51-55, M
Exactly one string-piece unit.
OliRos · 22-25, F
@Evened If I rearrange those words, I get very close to the description of a rather naughty swimming costume I once owned.
Evened · 51-55, M
@OliRos see, that's the exact length then 😀
OliRos · 22-25, F
@Evened The exact length of that costume was too short.
Evened · 51-55, M
@OliRos I'm sure it never can be too short, so it's still exact 😀
OliRos · 22-25, F
@Evened It was exactly too short.
Evened · 51-55, M
@OliRos I guess we ran into a paradoxon now, how can it be exactly long and exactly too short at the same time 🤔
OliRos · 22-25, F
@Evened 🙄 Pay attention. It's length (longness) is exact, in that it is the only measurable distance between the two ends of the piece of string when it is laid in a straight line. That longness is indisputable.

However, the length represented by that indisputable longness is indisputably, and exactly, too short for the purpose of being the garment already referenced.

So, longness is exact. Shortness is exact.
