Have You Ever Had an Experience

or saw something that was so beautiful, it made you want to cry? Or to have a visceral reaction? I have had many. Please share and include pics if you have them. Then I will share mine

The Alps-I was in the backseat of a car travelling to Salzburg when this picture came into view. all I could say was "Those are the Alps" the most beautiful mountains in the world.

King Tut and the Sphynx. I wanted to hug that little guy. To be able to see him in person, alone? The Sphynx, I couldn't get any closer than this. how amazing.

VanGogh' Starry Night

I actually stumbled across this at MOMA

the Mona Lisa-I am really into art.

Jim Morrison's grave

The mountains. Seeing them. Then climbing one. Every time I see the lake. Every time I walk in the forests. When I see children laughing and playing together in parks or elsewhere. When my son graduated high school and then college. When I crossed the border with everything I owned to move to Texas. And being at one particular wedding of a friend's daughter. One of twins. Raptors circled above them during their vows. I thought they wil be together until death.

@PoetryNEmotion Beautiful C. one of mine was the Alps. i will never forget seeing them for the first time.
Oh sooo many times…

I saw a shepherd in Kurdistan, Iran playing his flute … We approached him and said hi… he had only dry bread and butter milk for lunch and he offered us to share it with him … we thought that it would be very impolite not to accept … so, three of us shared his and our lunch together … it was a beautiful beautiful couple of hours ….

Holding my new born daughters top the list. Other than that it has been much more common for me to have that happen in nature. Last time was a on a hiking trip in the Smokey Mountains.

On a bike trip through DC there was a sign pointing to a path to Arlington Cemetery. We decided to take the side trip and are better for it.
As we walked about we came up on a drive and heard a strange sound. Soon there approached a funeral procession led by a horse drawn wagon with a flag draped coffin. It was followed by the honor guard, the sound was the mournful beat of the drum. I stood there not knowing this person but with tears on my cheeks. My daughter's who were with me did not speak of the tears then nor have they since

I once cried at a cute baby elephant clip. It was so random. I remember telling my boyfriend "Come, come and see!" and he's seeing the clip with me and goes "Why are you crying?"

Me: Its a baby elephant 😭😭😭😭

I once took a young coed friend of mine flying, and we were climbing up as the sun set. I looked over at Courtney, and she was just crying so much. I asked if she was okay, and she just said, "It's so beautiful."

And you know? She was right.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@billybcgn25 WOW!!! I can only imagine...doesn't that give you the chills?

I am placing a hex on you if you do NOT physically explore the WWI battlefield of the Dolomites....in the Italian Alps.
Once you recover, I will talk with you in pm about one that, I find very emotional and a close to the heart site.
Not having your ability to travel as you do then....well....I must live vicariously through you it appears.
