This Is So Mean….

But I wouldn’t blame someone for doing it.

Absolutely. That is something I will never understand, stealing someone's food at work. They deserve this !!

@Teslin they are working and earning money and blowing it as fast as they get it. One man apparently had a serious alcohol problem and he would steal cigarettes and food from the refrigerator every day. He had a key to the office because sometimes needed to get equipment and supplies to deliver. I wish I had made something and dosed it up with cayenne pepper really good and left it in the ice box.

@cherokeepatti A laxative would be what I would do !!

@Teslin a teacher got fired in a city near here when she left a plate of ex-lax cookies on a table in the teachers lounge because she was tired of someone stealing her snacks. But she wouldn’t have gotten fired if she had made prune brownies and let someone hog them all and get belly cramps from it.

@cherokeepatti Well, it sounds like she left them on an open table for all to share? I could be mistaken? That is definitely wrong. If she put them somewhere, in her personal space and someone ate them, they deserve it.

@Teslin yeah exactly. My friend left hers in her desk drawer. Which was off limit for anyone else but this woman had keys to her office, she was a lead and had a master key to all the offices.

@cherokeepatti Do what needs to be done to catch and stop her.
It sounds like she is possibly doing the same to others. What else is she getting into that she should not be seeing/doing???
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Teslin she did do the same to others. One woman left some chocolate bars in her locked work closet and they would come up missing the next morning when she returned to work. It was happening everywhere in our department. This woman was a weekend lead plus 3 days during the week and she prowled around all over the place when she was supposed to be working.

@cherokeepatti I assume she was let go?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Teslin Hell no she wasn’t. But when she turned 62 and was eligible for Social Security the manager called her in his office and told her she had been in the area for so long it wasn’t fair to other leads and that she would be transferred to a different area and would still get the same pay etc. She decided to go ahead and retire rather than risk getting caught and dealt with in another area where she wasn’t familiar with other employees.

@cherokeepatti Management knew about this and did nothing?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Teslin She was never caught in the act and they didn’t want to set themselves up for a lawsuit. She got by with so much and most of it wasn’t even about stealing food.
Teslin · M
@cherokeepatti Sounds like she held something over somebody and they were afraid to do anything to her?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Teslin She would go to the supervisor and say people were picking on her etc. so that they wouldn’t take any complaint about her seriously. No supervisor wants to create a lawsuit and be in the middle of it due to discrimination. For the last 10 years she used her age as a reason to feel discriminated against.
Teslin · M
@cherokeepatti Well, sounds like management didn't have the "balls" (sorry 🤷‍♂️) to take care of this. Co-workers should have taken matters into their own hands. Like I said, a laxitive or raging hot pepper as you mentioned.
If she complained and these items were in locked/private areas, she would have gotten the hint. Just my opinion 😊
