This Is So Mean….

But I wouldn’t blame someone for doing it.
Teslin · M
Absolutely. That is something I will never understand, stealing someone's food at work. They deserve this !!
Teslin · M
@cherokeepatti Sounds like she held something over somebody and they were afraid to do anything to her?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Teslin She would go to the supervisor and say people were picking on her etc. so that they wouldn’t take any complaint about her seriously. No supervisor wants to create a lawsuit and be in the middle of it due to discrimination. For the last 10 years she used her age as a reason to feel discriminated against.

@cherokeepatti Well, sounds like management didn't have the "balls" (sorry 🤷‍♂️) to take care of this. Co-workers should have taken matters into their own hands. Like I said, a laxitive or raging hot pepper as you mentioned.
If she complained and these items were in locked/private areas, she would have gotten the hint. Just my opinion 😊

Lol, serves her right! Stealing someone else's food is really low. There is absolutely no excuse for that, and anyone who does that should be fired.

Who steals an icecream?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Thevy29 Food thief at work will do it
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M

I worked at a place where this one woman was getting her lunch stolen regularly. She was the corporate cheerleader, err, spokeswoman. Reminded me of an annoying anchorperson on local news. Someone really hated her. LOL.

@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy I worked with a woman who got tired of her treats that were in her desk drawer coming up missing. She made a batch of brownies and melted some Ex-Lax and put in the frosting. The culprit that we suspected called in sick the next day saying she had a stomach virus. And she never stole anything out of that woman’s desk again. She wouldn’t tell me what she did until after she retired. I already knew because I made the remark one time that it would be too bad if someone cooked up a batch of brownies with puréed prunes in them and stole them out of her desk. She laughed so loud I knew she was going to do it. But she used Ex-lax instead.
@cherokeepatti life lessons 😂

Riverman2 · 56-60, M
Probably less mean than chocolate exlax.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Riverman2 But I imagine it tastes a lot more special
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti Oh I bet it's taste is amazing lololol. It's perfect, gets the job done, makes the point to leave your stuff alone, but no lasting effects. It's perfect lol.
calicuz · 51-55, M

LMAO...I did something similar when I made some candied apples, but I used onions instead of apples. I dipped them in chocolate laced with ghost pepper powder.

I don't think I'd ever do that, but have heard some real upsets about people taking other's food. I don't know... maybe I'd bring two meals and see what happens. lol
I often wonder what reasons people have to take food they know isn't theirs....
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User some are lazy and others spending their money for fast food & junk food & then running out of money way before payday to buy groceries. Mismanagement of money. The woman that put Ex-lax in her brownies & put them in her desk drawer had suffered for a year with little money because her daughter had divorced her deadbeat husband & had 2 grandchildren living there so it created a hardship. She told me much later that she made sure her daughter & granddaughters had plenty of food. I remember seeing her eat soda crackers with mayo on them one day at lunch and she told me she liked them like that. It was because she had no money for herself and the groceries at home were getting low. I felt like crying and told her if she had only spoken up I would have brought something to share with her because I had plenty. She never took anything that wasn’t hers out of the refrigerator.

@cherokeepatti Everyone of us has a story to tell... even if we keep it to ourselves.
We just never know what is going on with others.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User I just wish there was a way to tell when someone is really needing help so we could share with them. It wouldn’t have hurt me one bit to have brought extra food or given her a few groceries.
