Thermal curtains

I just found out about these today... they apparently have a special lining and are made of heavier materials to keep cold out. My windows are really draughty so I'm thinking of getting a pair. Does anyone else have these, are they any good? Do they make a difference in keeping the room warm?

I made my own out of felted cotton and I stitched in two layers of lining. I'm not sure they're very efficient, but they keep out direct draughts and stop the warm air from escaping so quickly.
