Easy as falling off a horse
My adventurous single friend Rachel arrived on our doorstep without the usual prior phone call - reason why was easy to see. Her right arm was in a sling and she was walking badly. That's what can happen when you fall off a horse.
She'd come by bus from the local A&E. The riding school lady had taken her to hospital and offered to wait with her, but she reckoned she could manage.
We gave her caulflower cheese becsuse she could eat it left-handed with a spork.
Rachel's a bit wary of the lord and master, because even though he insisted on taking her home in the car whenever she was ready, he can be very dismissive, and she doesnt quite know what to make of him. Anyway, we listened to her story about how she got her injuries, and all the details, and finally the lord and master remarked, "You were lucky."
She was a tad irked by this, and snapped,"What the hell's lucky about falling off a horse?"
He said quietly, "It could have been a cliff."
