Car free life

I haven’t got round to getting a car yet since I moved to the UK. Part of me thinks I don’t need one. People use their legs to get around here. I’ve seen so many bicycles around since being here too… maybe I’ll leave the car and just get a bike with a ‘tag along’ for my kid. I would LOVE to ride all around town on a cute bike with a basket on the front.

A car is an option in places where distances are short and served by public transport.. For the number of times you really need a car, the option of a cab or an Uber can be weighed against insurance and parking issues in a larger city.. And if you are a city dweller a car can be a drag on your budget.😷

@MrBrownstone yet you don't show your photo. How brave.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@basilfawlty89 I have before

Yes it's better. You'll Also love how your calves will look in 4-6 months. I go to college by bike, i hate taking a bus bcz it takes forever, and people keep giving me mean looks ( i live in an arabic country, i just don't fit their box😝).
It also feels so good and relaxing to start your day cycling. You'll get to work intoxicated 😊.
Moreover, you don't have to worry or pay for gas and replacing expensive parts.
Get a mountain bike tho ( like trek, scott or giant), vintage bikes don't let you drift or be comfortable while going up/down sidewalks😝 mtbs r the best.
Raffiki · 22-25, F
@Hassan You had me at the calves. Might have to go bike shopping tomorrow 😁
Hassan · 22-25, M
@Raffiki hahaha yesss. Don't get discouraged if you don't see progress on the 1st or 2nd month. It takes time. Tell me how it goes

In Amsterdam, a bike crashed into me when I was stoned and wondered into a bike lane..the obvious conclusion is that drugs are good and bikes are bad,right?
Raffiki · 22-25, F
@Burnley123 Have to agree with that conclusion 👍
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Raffiki Yes

I depends where.

In London, the traffic is so awful and I he public transport is so good that it's stupid to get a car. In other places, you need one, sadly.

Lots of nice places on our doorstep that we drive right bye x plus car prices have shot up and don’t get me started on price of petrol x

Except for those miserably 🥶 cold rainy days where the wind blows stinging raindrops in your face despite your direction of travel which seem always uphill. But you'll look cute and keep yourself in lovely shape. Soon likely that eligible young Cornwall Men come from all over the County just to see if you're real, as eyes will see, rumors will find mouths and curiosity will bring them to your path.

As someone who has spent their entire life unable to drive then became a parent.. I seriously don’t recommend it. I live in a place with pretty good public transportation. It’s a great idea in theory until you realize how stressful it is in many different ways. I can get more into it if you want, but I feel lazy right now. I would recommend getting the car and just driving less.

If you live in the city you really don’t need a car.
chuck7882 · 61-69, M

Raffiki · 22-25, F
@chuck7882 I am concerned about it 😂
Ramrod · 46-50, M

HannibalMontanimal · 26-30, M
Get an electric bike.
Raffiki · 22-25, F
@HannibalMontanimal I have considered an electric cargo bike 😏
You can get bicycle trailers too.
Lauren19 · 26-30, F
