Anyone know of a good brand to buy a 12 Gauge?

I don't know a whole lot about guns in general, especially when it comes to specs, quality and brands. I do know a 12 gauge is the more typical option for security purposes and home defense, so that's where I'm starting. I'm just a little apprehensive to go buy a random shotgun because I'm looking for something reliable. Hopefully, y'all can give me some pointers. Thank you!

Remington, Browning, Mossberg. Kind of depends on if you’re going stock or mod. We did more deer hunting, so I’m more versed on rifles than shotguns, though.

@ArmyOfOne My favorite rifle for deer is a 243 Winchester. For me, it’s the best all-around caliber because of lack of recoil, accuracy, and all the energy is used up in the deer. It’s got plenty of stopping power but doesn’t kick much, so it doesn’t hurt my shoulder when I’m using it. It’s a good gun.

@DarkHeaven true that. I just gotta do some more research and head to the range. Now as far as shotguns go, the farmer I work for gave me his shotgun...tonight's just a rough night. We found out more about the case and it just...I could've lost my wife yesterday night. :(

@DarkHeaven I'm trying to keep us safe. It was a murder attempt, and they got caught! But between myself and E (farmer), the farm would be burned down and my wife in her grandparents home. I've seen that due to my presence it stirred things up to just give us hell.
