@SW-User In old New England, they used to heat a brick at the fire, then wrap it in flannel and put it at the foot of the bed.

@4meAndyou People who make survival camping videos do that with rocks too. I saw one guy bring some folded heavy aluminum foil, collect some rocks from a stream, dig a hole and line it well with aluminum foil, add water and heat those rocks up and cook his ramen noodles that way. Those rocks were red hot though.

@cherokeepatti I read a book once that instructed how to boil water gradually inside a leather bag. You fill the bag with water, heat rocks, and then keep adding them to the water in the bag until the water boils. The bag never burns!
