Work stress venting.

Hard to vent work stress when most people dont understand what i do - nor do they really have any interest (no criticism from me on that).

The universal version:
Being told to prioritize two different things by two different groups - both of which are behind schedule and one of which I just got an email asking to change some core parts that pretty much means back to square 1.

My "help" are new to the tools and standards so i have to teach them basics (meaning id be faster doing it myself). They are afraid to use initiative (also understandable as this place will shred you for not knowing minutiae that they never bothered to write down).

The newer project has me doing things i dont normally do with people halfway across the country who dont do things like they are done here.

I am thinking that becoming Amish would be easier some days, except I dont think they like whiskey.
Anyway back to raising my cortisol levels.

I doubt theres any workplace in the world without stress. I have always been a hard worker and productive. I prefer to do things on my own because its faster and I can do it my way. I have a good reputation as well. But it seems like being a good employee only paints a target on your back. You're made to do other peoples jobs which they always take advantage of and work even less because they know you'll do it. your usual workload increases and theres a lot more critique and pressure on you. It comes back to bite you when you're having an off day or you are not able to complete your tasks. Also seems like the rules and policies are even more strictly enforced. Then you have those that don't like you spreading false allegations against you and putting more targets on your back. You wonder why those employees get paid the same as you and are mostly ignored by management.
