every time i tell someone this they just say "youre only 13/14/15/16, youre still young, relax" and it feels so useless because it doesnt help. i genuinely feel as though i am wasting my life completely. im already 16 and my life feels so empty...

You're right. The Merry Go Round only goes around once. We all have things we remember in life .... but when we die we don't dwell on those things. We dwell on what we didn't do in life. An old man told me once there are two kinds of old men in the old folks home. Those that only listen..... and those that tell the stories. Be the one that tells the stories.
