My smoking family

There’s this thing that drives me insane. Basically, all my older siblings and parents smoke. So in total, 4 people living with me smoke and 2 others who don’t live in the same house smoke as well. We’re a big family and we’re struggling with money but it just angers me so much because I need to keep feeling guilty and shit about myself about the fact that we’re broke. And they keep spending and spending, and smoking allll the time. How am I supposed to live this way? I know it’s an addiction and that it’s not as bad as drinking or doing drugs but still, how are we supposed to ever STOP being poor or be able to live a normal life if this keeps going on? I can’t do this anymore, and they keep loaning money from me to feed their addiction. What’s even worse is that my dad is getting sick from it. He has shortness of breath, coughing a lot (to the point that he’s just choking) and he continues to smoke. And the others continue to buy.

If you are in USA, you know cigarettes are about $10 per pack.

One way to smoke cheaper is to get a machine like in the pic, buy bags of tobacco and the tubes, make one's own cigarettes. It is not as convenient but way cheaper, comes out to maybe $1.50 a pack.

One would need -

Cigarette machine (about $60)
box of tubes ($5)
bag of pipe tobacco ($8 for 6 oz) One 6 oz bag renders about 130 to 150 cigarettes.

All this can be found at a lot of tobacco stores.

There's youtube videos showing how to do it, pretty easy but the cigarettes can be hit or miss because of the texture of the pipe tobacco. Try not to overpack the chamber. Takes a bit of practice.
Even if half the cigarettes do not turn out quite right, it is still cheaper than store-bought.

@HoeBag here in Canada, you can buy cigarettes off the native reserves for about $20/carton!

@Lilyb If I could find something that inexpensive and the cigs weren't bad, I would go with that.
In America, a carton at the store typically runs $80 to $100. Effing ridiculous.
