Upsetting thing that happened :[

I was walking down the hall in my school yesterday. My school is middle and high school combined, and I am in high school. It was before the day started, and I was walking to my locker, and some kid (6th or 7th grade I'd say) started barking at me, and his friend yelled out "EW! IT'S A FURRY!! GET IT OUT" and I started dying of laughter, and I couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes. I knew it was directed at me, because I'm wearing a tail. It's hooked onto the side of my pants. It was the first time I've experienced anything like that, and I thought it was so funny, at first. After school, I had to hang around the school for a few extra minutes to help one of my friends bring something to their car. After that I started walking home like usual, the only thing different today was that I was walking alone, typically, I walk with one of my friends. It was the same kids as earlier. They kept barking at me and yelling at me. They even called me a slur (the F-slur, seeing as I have a pride flag on my bag) The also told me I needed Jesus. I got a little fed up with them. Then they said "It's hunting season" And I felt threatened. I picked up a small stick just in case something happened, Thankfully they did nothing physical. But they followed me until I crossed the last road that my house is on, It's a dead end road so they didn't follow me, but they kept yelling after my from the corner. I said nothing to them, except for when I told them to shut up and leave me alone. I saw them today in the hall, and I'm wearing my tail, but I had one of my friends with me so they didn't bother me this time. I'm going to see if the friend I walk with will stay behind a bit with me to see if the kids come out and if they try anything again today if I have another person with me. If they do anything again today, I'm going to report it to the school.
I'm so sorry this happened to you. I haven't had any social interactions in a while (regarding school), but I have experienced complications just because of something I'm wearing or who I am. I honestly cannot stand people like this. Those kids don't matter, and I just want you to know, it will be okay and I'm really proud of you. Please continue to be yourself, and you can always dm me if you need someone to talk to! :)
